Hello world!
This post should be the first piece of content of my site. But I decide to rewrite it from the ground because I realize I had not figured out what the site was about at that time.
I was not intend to write blogs then. All I wanted was a place to experiment HTML/CSS/Javascript following my sudden interest in front-end development. But then I read the blog Software engineers should write and it did motivate me. Anyway, a clear thought is required to write codes as well as blogs and I should keep practicing it. (I understand this more profoundly after my first technical post, that’s another reason I rewrite this post.)
So this is a blog?
Well, I plan to make it more than a blog, but for now it appears to be just a set of posts (and nobody reads them). However, I try to make each single piece of them as interactive as possible. During the last few years, I get used to learn from online tutorials and dynamic books (e.g., the latest Neural network and deep learning) instead of static materails. I think it is a much more comprehensive way to share knowledges, especially for IT related topics.
I have spent weeks to explore and weight the options for building my site, and finally chose Github as the host and Hugo as the generator. Why? Github is free and simply great, and Hugo is really “A fast & modern static website engine”.
The problem left is that they are both static – it is not saying the pages are not dynamic, but the site can be think of a pure front-end (bunch of HTMLs). The host (Github) is just a blackboard that provides no back-end interaction (database update). It bothered me for a while but then I realized it doesn’t matter (and it can be walked around like the embedded Disqus commenting system, if it’s important to you).
That’s all in brief. Now the journey has begun, keep going!

UPDATE Mar 29, 2015:
I decide to re-organize my posts into 4 categories, based on the role I play in each:
- Dreamer: just talk, blah blah blah, mostly about the future … Promise no coding involved :)
- Reviewer: share my thoughts on apps/projects/tech I’m excited about;
- Designer: it’s the beauty I’m after …
- Hacker: just do it.
